Terms of Service
Last updated: October 16, 2026
About these terms
These terms are the agreement between you and Fragmentum (“we”, “us”) for using Fragmentum on the web, in the browser extension and in the desktop and mobile apps. By creating an account you accept these terms. A paid subscription is a separate purchase, confirmed at checkout. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information. If anything here is unclear, write to support@fragmentum.app.
Your account
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- Give a real email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account, including through personal access tokens and connected tools you create.
- An account is for one person. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used yours.
Free and the optional trial
Every account starts on Free with 200 MB and 3 AI questions per day. After a first save or library search, you can explicitly start an optional 14-day trial in Billing, without a payment card. It happens once per account and does not restart. Unless you subscribe, it ends on Free with saved material retained and accessible.
Subscription and payment
- When subscriptions are available, the Plus plan costs $9.99 a month or $95.90 a year. Max, for heavier use, costs $19.99 a month or $191.90 a year and adds more storage and a larger monthly AI allowance. Prices are in US dollars and include any VAT that applies. Available plans, the billing period and the total payable are shown before you subscribe; a plan described here may not yet be offered in your account.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details.
- A subscription renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel it.
- You can cancel, change between monthly and yearly or between the two plans, update your payment method and download invoices at any time from Billing in your account menu. Stripe shows what a plan change costs before you confirm it, and any charge or credit is handled as shown in that confirmation. When you cancel, your subscription runs to the end of the period you have paid for and then stops.
- If a payment fails, Free access continues while payment is unresolved. Paid storage and allowances return after confirmed payment.
- If we change the price, we will tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to you, and you can cancel before then.
Right of withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you can withdraw from a new subscription within 14 days of concluding the contract, without giving a reason. Send a clear statement to support@fragmentum.app before that period ends. Include your account email and the subscription or purchase date so we can identify the purchase. Cancelling automatic renewal and exercising this right of withdrawal are separate actions.
We reimburse payments covered by a valid withdrawal within 14 days after being informed, using the original payment method unless you expressly agree otherwise, without a refund fee. A proportionate charge for service supplied before withdrawal applies only where you expressly requested service to start during the withdrawal period and the required information was provided. Accepting these terms alone is not that request. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
You may use the following withdrawal statement, but do not have to: “To Fragmentum at support@fragmentum.app: I give notice that I withdraw from my subscription contract, concluded on [date]. Name: [your name]. Account email: [your email]. Address: [your address]. Date: [today's date].” For a statement sent on paper, add your signature.
When a trial or subscription ends
You return to Free. Saved material stays accessible and searchable, with enrichment and three AI questions per UTC day. Nothing is automatically deleted. Above quota, only changes that increase storage use wait; reading, search, export, deletion and changes that reduce storage use remain available.
Storage
Free includes 200 MB. The paid base plan includes 10 GB (50 GB with Max) for stored text and metadata, files you upload, and page copies you keep. The readable copies Fragmentum makes of the pages you save do not count toward it, within fair use for an individual library. At or above the limit, changes that increase counted storage are blocked until you free space or choose a larger plan. Reading, search, export, deletion and changes that reduce storage remain available. Moving from Max back to Plus deletes nothing; above the smaller plan’s limit, only storage-increasing changes wait.
Your content
- You retain the rights you hold in your own notes, files and other material. Saving someone else’s work does not transfer its copyright or other rights to you or to Fragmentum.
- You allow us to store, copy and process it only to run Fragmentum for you: for example to keep readable copies of pages, read text from PDFs and pictures, write summaries and tags, index it for search and answer your questions, using the service providers described in the Privacy Policy.
- Your library is private. If you share a collection by link, anyone with the link can view its shared content and your display name, including through its RSS link, until you make it private again. This cannot recall copies already downloaded by someone else.
- Only save and share what you have the right to. Copies of other people's pages are for your own reading.
Acceptable use
Do not use Fragmentum to:
- break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including by publishing other people's work through shared collections;
- store or share material that is illegal, or that abuses or harasses anyone;
- probe, overload or get around the security, limits or access controls of the service;
- resell the service or use it to run automated collection of other websites at scale.
We may remove a shared link or suspend an account that breaks these rules. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you the chance to export your library.
AI features
Summaries, tags and answers from Ask are written by an AI service from the content in your library. They can be incomplete or wrong, so check the sources Ask cites before relying on an answer.
Free questions reset daily at midnight UTC. Summaries, descriptions, tags and search spend no questions. Other AI allowances reset on the first of each UTC month. For trial and paid plans, once the month's full-answer allowance is used, questions get quicker, shorter answers until that allowance is used too. Free has no quick-answer fallback after its daily allowance. Once the month's summaries are used, new saves are kept without a summary until you open one in a month that has summaries left. Saving, search, reading and export are never limited this way.
- Free trial: 50 answers, then up to 100 quicker answers, 3 research briefs and 300 summaries a month.
- Plus: 200 answers, then up to 400 quicker answers, 15 research briefs and 1,000 summaries a month.
- Max: 400 answers, then up to 800 quicker answers, 30 research briefs and 2,000 summaries a month.
If the service does not work as agreed
Consumers have statutory rights when a digital service does not meet the contract or applicable legal requirements. Contact support@fragmentum.app with the problem so we can investigate and bring the service into conformity, without charge and within a reasonable time where required by law. Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a proportionate price reduction or to end the contract and receive the refund required by law. These rights are separate from the 14-day right of withdrawal and are not excluded by the availability or liability sections below.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Fragmentum running and your library safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors. We improve the service over time; if we remove a paid feature you rely on, we will tell you in advance, and you can cancel. Source websites may change, restrict access or disappear. Saving a link does not guarantee a complete page copy, successful text extraction or continued access to the original. Offline availability depends on what has been downloaded to that device and can be lost if its storage is cleared. Keep your own export of material you need to retain independently.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings › Profile. Deleting it cancels your subscription and removes your library. It does not automatically refund earlier payments; rights to withdrawal, refunds for a defective service and other mandatory consumer remedies remain available. We may close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, and we will tell you why and how to contact us to challenge the decision, unless doing so is prohibited by law or would compromise security.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law that applies to you, or our liability where the law does not allow it to be limited. Apart from that, we are not liable for losses we could not reasonably foresee, and our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters to you, we will tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before the change applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel and export your library before then.
Law and disputes
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in its courts. You can contact support@fragmentum.app with a complaint, including the account email and relevant details. We will investigate and reply. Contacting us first is encouraged, but is not a condition for exercising your legal rights.
